Three men in orange vests

As an animated sailor, I am partial to nautical metaphors.

  1. lyrics:

across the waters grey and rough
there is a mist over the hills
behind the low clouds the sun glows
it lights the sky still blue

    three men in orange vests
carry a tree out to sea
they tow it away in a small boat

    we are waiting

the sun is gone but still it sets
i see it pink beneath the clouds
my heart is full there is a ramp
a ramp that lead to nowhere

    three men in orange vests
do their work wave their arms
a tree drifts out to the sea and back

    its roots are bare

we are waiting, we are waiting
    everything waiting
    for the boat to arrive
    to be made alive
    everything waiting
the birds fly nowhere in the wind
the tree drifts back to the shore again
the sun will rise and set again
set us out to sea again
